This listing is for a 10z or 17oz bag of pre-rinsed and sanitized LECA. LECA stands for Lightweight Expandable Clay Aggregate.
For reference, 10oz of LECA will roughly fill 3 solo cups. This is a good size for beginners or if you’re looking to add a couple more plants to LECA.
Due to the unique structure and large surface area, this LECA offers the ideal environment for beneficial bacteria growth around the root zone.
If you’re just starting out with LECA, I recommend looking into my LECA starter kit that is designed for beginners!
LECA can be reused over and over again. With proper care, it can last a lifetime.
What exactly is LECA?
Essentially, Leca is a growing medium, like soil, in which you can grow your plants. Leca is a collection of baked clay balls that expand when you soak them in water. The water that’s soaked up in the clay balls can be used to water plants. However, unlike soil, Leca is just a collection of clay balls and doesn’t contain any nutrients. All they do is soak up a little water and expand. Your plant will still need nutrients, so you’ll need to add these nutrients to the water.
